Terms of Service

By accessing and using the website millajepr.com (hereinafter, "the Service", "the Application", or "Mileage Calculator"), you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our tool.

1. Nature of the Service and Disclaimer

Mileage Calculator is an independent convenience tool designed to facilitate the estimation and internal logging of travel expense reimbursements, using the Official Distance Table of the Highway and Transportation Authority (ACT) of Puerto Rico and standard IRS and/or Department of Hacienda rates as a reference. Millaje PR is a private service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official agency of the ACT, DTOP, the Department of Hacienda, or the Government of Puerto Rico.

2. Accuracy of Information (As-Is Service)

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Although we strive to keep ACT distances and annual rates updated, we do not guarantee that the information is free from errors, omissions, or discrepancies due to legislative changes, Hacienda circular letters, or route updates in the country.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Millaje PR and its developers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for financial losses, failed audits, tax penalties, or lost data, resulting from the use or inability to use the Service. To the same extent, our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim or fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or gross negligence.

3. Intellectual Property

All user interface, design, software logic, and source code comprising the Service are the exclusive property of the creators of millajepr.com and are protected by copyright laws. It is strictly prohibited to copy, scrape, or reverse engineer the application's code or database; reproduce our interface for commercial purposes without express authorization; or automate queries to our database using unauthorized bots or scripts.

Note: We recognize that raw distance data between municipalities is public information from the Government of Puerto Rico, which we do not claim as our own; our copyright rests on the implementation, formatting, and the software that processes it.

4. Privacy and Data Storage

As a signed-out guest, origin, rate, auto-calculate, language, theme, and recent calculations exist only in the current page’s memory and are cleared on reload, navigation, or a new tab; date selection is limited to three months in the past. Cookie-consent and onboarding choices remain stored separately. When you sign in, account preferences replace guest preferences and you must choose whether to import or discard current-page trips. Import is not automatic. Signed-in calculation history of up to 100 entries and eligible historical date entries of up to two years may be synchronized with your account through Firebase services. Trips beyond that limit are moved to an archive stored with your account rather than deleted; you can download all of your trips, recent and archived, as a CSV file.

If you use the optional feedback form or contact form, your submission is transmitted to our servers and stored on infrastructure operated by Google (Firebase / Google Cloud), including your rating, comments, messages, email address, and a browser-generated client identifier. When email notifications are enabled, transactional communications, administrative alerts, and user-requested feedback acknowledgments are transmitted via authorized email providers (including Resend and Firebase). Account session data and synchronized preferences are also processed and stored through Firebase services. When you sign in for the first time, a secure administrative notification containing your profile details (such as name, email address, user ID, and auth provider) is generated and sent to our team, and log records of auth events are kept for auditing. ‘Remember me’ is disabled by default. If you explicitly select it, the HTTP-only session may persist for up to five days; otherwise, the cookie is intended to expire with the browser session and has a shorter server-enforced lifetime. We apply technical controls to prevent abuse (including server-side input sanitization against email header injection, short-lived rate-limit records using one-way hashed values, and duplicate submission detection). When configured, Cloudflare Turnstile may be used to verify submissions. How we handle this information is explained further in our Privacy Policy.

5. Feedback and User Submissions

By sending feedback, you grant millajepr.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, retain, and process your submission to operate and improve the Service. You confirm that your content does not infringe third-party rights or violate applicable law. We are under no obligation to acknowledge, respond to, or implement feedback.

6. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Millaje PR and its developers from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit.

7. Applicable Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, without giving effect to any conflict of law provisions. Any legal dispute arising in relation to this Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Puerto Rico.

8. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

9. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
